Robin Hood Marathon 2010 Launch

The Treetops Hospice team brought along some supporters from Nottingham RFC to the launch of the 30th Experian Robin Hood Marathon in Nottingham's Old Market Square on Tuesday 23rd February 2010.

Kate and Alex were joined by George Cameron, Chief Executive at Treetops, Trustee Geoff Saville, Nottingham Rugby Club's Tim Usasz, Rohaan Nirmalendran and Phil Eggleshaw and some enthusiastic Treetops volunteers.

As one of the official race charities, Treetops are hoping that many of the runners will choose to run for them, and with between 2000 and 2500 people expected to compete in the full marathon it could be a real boost to Treetops Hospice, who are the official local charity for this year's event.

The Nottingham RFC players encouraged as many people as possible to sign up for the 30th anniversary races - and to choose Treetops Hospice as their nominated charity.

Some of the Treetops Hospice team took up the event launch challenge and raced down a 30m dash course in front of a good sized crowd.

Kate and Alex had brought along some bright green spacehoppers, but it seems that the rugby players weren't quite so keen as Kate to try them out. Perhaps they were worried about them bursting!

There are plenty of options for the many different kinds of runners taking part in this year's Experian Robin Hood Festival of Running. Just visit the official website here to find out full details - and when signing up please consider running for Treetops Hospice. Your support can make a BIG difference!
